At Substation Enterprises, our engineers use STAAD Pro structural analysis software to verify the integrity of our structural designs. In addition to foundation reactions, we also provide structural calculation on all substation package projects so you can be assured of adequately sized steel members.
We design our structural steel per our customers’ specifications. If no specification is given, we default to the ASCE 113 Substation Structure Design Guide.
Our experienced project designers use AutoCAD to produce the required electrical and structural drawings.
We can also supply bid and performance bonds when required.
As an industry leader, we understand the needs of our clients. A set of drawings is included with each of our substation packages. Drawings typically include:
- Detailed Electrical arrangement drawings key-marked to a Bill of Materials
- Anchor bolt plan and detail drawings
- Grounding plan and detail drawings
- Structural steel/aluminum erection drawings
- Structural steel/aluminum fabrication detail drawings
- Others upon request
Additional Capabilities
Aluminum Design and Fabrication
We offer the capability to design aluminum structures per the Aluminum Association Aluminum Design Manual. We have supplied numerous substations fabricated from structural aluminum since 2001.

As a service to our customers, we stock many common substation components. Check with us if you need material quickly.
Wall Structures
We have the capability to design and supply wall structures supporting ballistic panels such as the Ballisti-Wall product from Southern States.
